The Early Years at Kenton will be a wonderful place where all children are valued as individuals and where relationships are strong between children and their peers and between children and the adults surrounding them. The emphasis on children leading their own learning, with the guidance of highly skilled practitioners, means that when the children leave the Early Years they will be independent, risk taking individuals who are ready for the next stages in their learning. We will work very closely alongside our families to ensure smooth transitions into and out of EY and regular conversations with parents will allow us to ensure that the needs of children can be fully met. 

 

The level of expertise will need to be high amongst the EY practitioners and we will recruit very carefully ensuring we can strive for excellence to enable our holistic approach to learning  gives every child the best possible start to their education career and beyond. We look forward to sharing our Early Years expertise and experience to support the wider Early Years Community within Nairobi to showcase our wonderful EY department here at Kenton College Prep School.

 

The philosophy is to incorporate as many natural aspects as we can. Neutral and natural are key foundations. We want to integrate the trees already on site and have access to an area where the children would plant their own fruit and vegetables. The use of natural resources (loose parts) is key with limited use of closed / plastic resources. The Forest School concept would need consideration in the design phase to ensure that some elements are included on this site.
